River Café

Last night we were whisked into London and wined and dined at the River Café.

What a wonderful place. A real buzz and fantastic atmosphere and cheerful and helpful waiters and waitresses who were clearly enjoying themselves; a delight.

One of the best meals we’ve ever had – and not outrageously expensive.

I started with langoustines that were so fresh they would have walked off the plate if they hadn’t been split in two!

The Major had an Italian leaf salad – also scrumptious.

Then we both had turbot with spinach and fennel – which was incredible .

We followed this up with cheese and then

I had pannacotta with grappa and champagne rhubarb and the Major had Lemon Tart.

At the end of this delightful evening we were then transported back home. A brilliant end to the week!
